Letter from Cole (Spring Break-Vacationing with Grandparents)

Dear Mommy and Daddy,

I am really having a great time. Right now Nonnie and I are watching a little bit of Little Mermaid. Grandfather fed me at 5 and we played then I did a little tummy time. Nonnie is so funny. I had a great time with Sophie.Could you bring me a giraffe home from Austin...a real one? And don't forget that mermaid. Nonnie played with me in the bath tub. I really do like my new fish toy. Nonnie calls it a shower. She is so silly. I know it is a toy with holes in the fishtail. Mommy, Nonnie put that goo on my face again.I think I might take a little nap while Nonnie is typing.
Don't worry about me I am having a great time but I do miss yall. Bring me some pictures of all the pretty girls...nah, nevermine Ruthie might get jealous.

I love you,
Cole

Hey y'all, granddad and me have not seen much of each other during spring break but we went to a wedding this afternoon with grandmomma. (grand dad is doing the best he can to show her the ropes to keep me happy). Anyway, believe this or not, the wedding was an outdoor affair and boy was it cold and windy!

I heard talk of "the best man" and I guess they might have been talking about me... I was in several videos and at least a dozen pics. We left early so if they were giving a prize I guess the runner up will be happy I left.

Mom and dad, I guess we both had weddings on our calendar today!
See ya'

Cole's Favorite Toy

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I have had a busy Spring Break. I went to the doctor Tuesday. I weighed 13 lbs. and 8.5 ozs. and was 25.5 in. tall. Mom and Dad tried to start me on cereal, but I wasn't having it. The spoon was too scary.

Wednesday Mom and Dad used a straw to feed me and once I realized how yummy the cereal was I used my spoon (sort of) to finish the bowl.

Last night I also slept in my big boy bed all night. I am not sure why Mom and Dad were crying when they left me in my room. I did just fine. I got a little hungry about 4 a.m. so Mom let me eat a little snack and I slept until 7 a.m.

I have big plans to spend the night with my grandparents this weekend. Mom and Dad are off to Austin for Aunt Kim's wedding. I hope they can make it out the door on Friday. I may need to push them on out.

Have a great weekend.

Letter from Cole (Friday, March 12) 4 Months

Hey y'all, I was helping granddad along this morning by holding my own bottle. For real and for quite a while! I sure liked it; when I hold it all the time I won't have to contend with it being take away from me for burp time...which is absolutely no fun. Besides, all that gas was escaping from the other end this morning. I'm going to have to work on my table manners a bit...

Hey y'all it's me! I am full. I am clean. And I am 4 months old today! Quite a milestone, even if I say so myself! Man, I can remember back when I was one month old... I did not think I would ever be four months old!

But, here I am and what a great ride it has been. Life has sure been good. I have been places, seen things and done things most 4 month olds can only dream about.

I've had to learn to fend for myself on week days though when my granddads are spending time with me. They think they are doing such wonderful jobs...

That's ok, we all have to endure a few "hardships" along the way. It's up to us to learn and grow from these situations, especially where well intentioned granddads are concerned.

I am sure mom and dad have some sort of blow-out planned to celebrate this milestone. If it were up to me a quite night at home with just the three of us would be great but I guess all those presents, ice cream and cake will be fun too.

Check you later,

Letter from Cole (Thursday, March 11)

I thought granddad was going to take a picture of me with no clothes on! Wow was I happy he decided to put a diaper on me and then, thank goodness, he just got me from the neck up.

You just can not be too careful these days with pictures and posts in your early years that might be dredged up some later time in your life when you are about something pretty important, like running for class office in high school or something like that...

Besides, I go to kinder music on Mondays and I am keeping my eyes on a couple of the girls there. I sure would hate for them to see a compromising picture of me. It was bad enough last Monday... think I may have made Ruthie a little uncomfortable. We were sitting next to her and I just could not keep from looking her way... if you get my drift. I'm going to have to work on a little different technique or just buy a good pair of sunglasses!

Nice talkin to ya,

The Colester

I guess some of you know what that means... Around lunch time today granddad turned my favorite Baby Einstein DVD off without even asking me and started flipping channels like crazy. Turns out he wanted to watch a game between the Cougars and the Tigers.

It sounds pretty exciting but it was just a basketball game! Granddad knows I should not put on U of H stuff because mom and dad only want
me wearing Aggie or Bear clothes, but those Cougars put on quite a show and beat the number two seed in the C USA tournament. (I am not real sure about what that really means; what kind of seed?)

Well, like I said, the Coogs won the game and then I had to have my picture made with this huge shirt that smelled really old. It seemed to make granddad happy so I guess it's ok but I sure hope Ruthie does not see this one either.

See ya

Letter from Cole (Thursday, March 4)

The weather is warming up and I am in serious need of a really good bite from a big red but more preferably a big trout! All I hear about these days is how much fun it's "gonna" be for dad, Uncle John and granddaddy to go fishing with me and Pabs. Well sorry Pabs, but if any of the three of you, or all three of you, or any other combination that includes me wants to go fishing... Well let's quit talking and let's start casting!

I heard y'all talking about how old I needed to be to head down to Mansfield. Well, I think three and a half months is almost perfect. Perfect would have been however old I was yesterday!!!!

Don't worry about waders; I'm used to being wet most of the day anyway when I am with granddaddy!

I know dad snuck off with Uncle John last weekend and did not even think of taking me; brutal! I guess it was not all that bad here though and besides I love fishing but a catch every now and then would be nice too. I heard there was little or no catching on this trip but I could have changed all that with a floating pink Corky fatboy. They would have eaten it up!

I better grab my pole; looks like that big trout has my fat boy sideways in her mouth. If my rig holds up the next time you see me will be on the cover of "Texas Saltwater Fishing" magazine!

Gotta go my drags singing!
