Halloween 2012

Cole had a party at school today.  All the kids got dropped off in their costumes, but when I got there for the party most had changed...not Cole.  He was still in his pirate get up.  I was shocked that he actually put it on this time.

Wiggle, Wiggle, Freeze

This evening we went to the church and our street block party.  Cole loved passing out candy to all the kids that came by.
If you asked Cole, Jake was Mr. Smee.

Another turn of events

After I went in and spoke with my principal about quitting, I went to talk to my CTE director.  By the end of our chat, we discussed a possible part time position.  There are a couple of different scenarios, but either way I can pick up the kids from school and spend the afternoons with them.  It will also allow me some time away from the house and I'll earn some money too.  I'm very excited about this new chapter in my life.  God is good.

DaDa dropped a bomb on us...

So my dad's grandparent name is "Dada" pronounced dah-dah.  Serves him right for wanting Cole to call him "Grandfather."  A couple of weeks ago DaDa dropped a bomb on us...he  is going back to work part time...which means we have no one to keep Cade.  The plan was for my dad to keep Cade and my in-laws to keep Cole and take him to his school each day.  The got us thinking about what we were going to do.  I just never really wanted my newborn to be kept by someone else in a full time daycare.  If that were the case, then I prefer to stay home myself.  I had debated staying home before the school year started, but because my dad had agreed to keep Cade, I decided to get one more year under my belt.  Well...I have decided to stay home starting next semester.  The only problem is that in order to get my year of service with TRS, I need to work a total of 90 days.  First semester is only 74 days, so I will need to work 16 days in January and then I'll be done.  I am very excited about this new opportunity.  It is something I have wanted to do since Cole was born.

Halloween Party

The Stewart's had a Halloween Party last weekend.  Cole was so excited to be Captain Hook and when the big day came, he refused to put on his costume.  He threw the fit of all fits, so he went in a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and wind pants (what he had on).  Once we got there I think he wished he had worn it.  Everyone else was dressed up.  There was great food and lots of things for the kids to do.  We had a great time.

Pumpkin Carving

I guess it's my fault that my son doesn't really like to get dirty.  I'm always wiping his hands, telling him not to mess up his clothes, cleaning his face, etc.  So when it came time to carve our pumpkin Cole said, "Ooo...that's nasty, mom."  So guess who stuck their manicured hands in the goop.  Gross.  Here are a few pics of the fun.  We roasted the seeds too, yum. FYI...we recently started Sunday movie night, so Cole is now a fan of Toy Story.
