Brandy and Chris- May 15, 2010

The weekend following Mother's Day was B's wedding. We dropped Cole off with our parents and headed to San Antonio Friday morning. The bad weather hit right after we passed Buccee's. We were able to pick up Marisa from a hotel on the River Walk and head over to a little Mexican restaurant for lunch. When we got to La Cantera we checked into our pimpin room on the 7th floor. We only roll with the big dogs (aka Marisa and Allan). In the early evening we headed over to the rehearsal and then the rehearsal dinner at La Fogata. Kristin, Chad, Ali, and Jarrod were stranded in Dallas and finally made it into SA sometime in the middle of dinner. We were just glad they made it at all. The weather was crazy. It was so much fun hanging out together with everyone and we definately miss our two preggos.

The next day we had a Bridal Brunch and of course "the Big Day." The weather was beautiful and everything went so smoothly (except the groomsmen left in the limo without us). The next morning we had a nice breakfast and Kim and Andrew shared some exciting news...and now we know that Cole will have a new buddy. Yeah...more boys. Here are a few pics of the wedding and of Cole who was here at home with our parents.

Mother's Day 2010

My first Mother's Day was great. Cole got Mommy a birthstone pendant to go with her "COLE" charm and a photo frame with his picture and handprints. I loved it. We had lunch after church with my mom and then a party at the Bailey's for dinner. Cole got to meet his cousin, Jake, for the first time. Here are a few pics.

The month of April has come and gone...

So I know it's been a while since my last post. Lots of things have been happening in the Bailey Household. Cole's baby dedication at church was April 11. Cole was perfectly content sitting in the pew listening to the singing and prayers. When it was our turn to go up on the pulpit, Cole was amazed at the crowd. He stared out in awe. Our pastor, Dr. Lyles, held him as he did the dedication. Dr. Lyles has a beard like my dad and I think Cole was a little confused. He just kept looking up at Dr. Lyles as he spoke. After church our family headed to Fuddruckers to eat. We had a nice lunch together. Cole was definitely the star of the show.

Last weekend was my mother-in-law's 60th birthday. We had a surprise party at China Garden. After the party, I packed up and headed to Dallas for Brandy's Shower/Bachelorette Weekend. I had fun with the girls and Stephen kept Cole. (Actually...Stephen played in a golf tournament and my mother-in-law had him from 12-8 p.m. Stephen and Cole came to the airport to get me Sunday morning and then we headed to breakfast before I took a big, fat nap. My body is not able to hang out late like I used to. Stephen took Cole to the beach by our house so I could get some rest.

This past Tuesday, Cole's cousin, JAKE, arrived. Jake was born on Tuesday morning at 5:48 a.m. Cole and Jake haven't met yet, but Cole sent over a little gift to welcome Jake to our world. You guessed it...his very own Sophie the giraffe. Both mom and baby are doing well and we can't wait for the boys to meet. Cole and Jake have lots of good times ahead.

Jake and Aunt Steph

Today Stephen and I took Cole to the Museum of Natural Science. He loved the dinosaurs and African animals the best. I heard on the news yesterday that there was free admission. We are definitely all about free these days. I know Cole will surely enjoy a museum trip once he gets a little older, but I know he enjoyed the sights and sounds. After the museum we walked around Herman Park and then headed home for a big nap. We decided to stop at Wally World so I could run in and get a few things. When I came outside, Cole and Stephen were napping in the car. I guess we all had a big day. Cole is napping as I type and Stephen has headed out to play soccer at open gym.

I will be back on soon with Cole's 6th month check up report and pictures. We are going next Saturday to take Mother's Day/6th month pictures. I can't believe Cole is already almost six months. Oh how time flies...

Here are a few of my favorite pics of the month...

Vote For My Granddaddy

Man, I was sure looking forward to being my grandad's campaign manager. We have been talking and planning on how I was going to keep him on the road and on message.

You can see I have some snappy "campaign clothes" and now we find out no one filed to run against him. Grandad is sure glad but I was itching for a good scrap and sweet victory!

Maybe next time...

Better Wash My Feet

Old Jake, yeah that's right Jake, is coming along just at the right time. You might know Jake as Pablo, my new cousin. I am not sure why they changed his name but I bet they found out he can't speak Spanish or something like that. I just hope he knows to answer when he hears "Jake" and not to say "aqui" when a teacher at school calls roll.

Anyway I digress. For all these new outdoor activities I thought I would limber up and stretch out a bit. If you try this; remember, you better wash your feet!

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it way...

So Cole went to see the Easter Bunny at the Credit Union on Thursday. He was none to excited because we had to take him during nap time so we could beat the crowd. Here is a pic with EB.

On Saturday we went to the church for the Spring Event. Cole had a great time. No egg hunt for the little babies, just plastic eggs laid out on blankets. He did go into the petting zoo and sit on a donkey (with a little help from Daddy, of course). He wasn't too impressed with any of the animals.

On Sunday after church Cole went to brunch at Aunt Annette's and lunch and Nonnie and Grandfather's. We had a egg hunt with my family. Cole got a head start. He found a few eggs and wondered why were making him hold them and then throw them in a basket. He also found a Golden Egg. It had three dollars. We are definitely putting that into his savings account.
