Easter Weekend 2012

On Thursday, I took Cole to have his picture made with the Easter Bunny at our local Credit Union.  He wasn't too sure about the EB, but wasn't freaked out either.  On Friday, mom and I took Cole to get some spring pictures.  Stephen had told me about a patch of bluebonnets near the house.  As you see in the pictures below, we were a day late and a dollar short.  That night was Cole's first night in his big boy bed.  We had switched his furniture while my parents kept Cole Friday afternoon.  His new PBK bedding matched perfectly with his current room decor.  I didn't move a thing.  On Saturday, we went to our church's spring egg hunt.  Right as the hunt was about to start, they turned off the bounce houses.  Cole was so consumed with why they were deflating, he didn't even pick up one single egg.  That evening we headed to the Helme's to celebrate Shane's birthday.  The boys had a good time hunting eggs in the front yard.  We spent Sunday at church and with our families.  All in all, a nice family weekend.

Super Hero Easter Eggs

Today we dyed Easter Eggs after church.  Cole was really excited.  This was the first year he actually participated.  After we dyed eggs and decorated them with stickers, we made muffins while daddy was grilling dinner.

1st Trip to the Houston Rodeo

So on St. Patty's day, we headed to the rodeo.  We had tickets to see Brad Paisley, but we never made it into Reliant.  We went to the arena and the carnival. Cole loved seeing all the animals; he especially liked the birthing center.  After we walked around the arena, we had dinner outside...carnival food and then headed to the Midway. Cole's favorite thing was riding the Metro Rail to get there and back.  He kept saying, "Let's go ride the train."  We decided we will have to take him downtown one Saturday afternoon and just ride the train for a while in and around the museum district.

Strawberry Picking at Froberg Farm

Over Spring Break we went to Froberg's Farm to pick strawberries.  Cole had a great time.  It was a little difficult to keep him from picking ones that weren't quite ripe.  He also liked to hop over the rows and trample some of the patch.  After visiting the strawberry patch, we went into their farmer's market and bought some homegrown veggies.

Pizza Parlor

Cole's newest "thing" is to cook.  He loves to help me make anything, so I have been thinking of dishes we can make together.  The other day I picked him up from his Grammie's house and told him we were headed to the store to buy stuff to make pizza.  He had such a great time.

Cole's Going To Be A Big Brother

So I guess it's time to write a post and let those that haven't heard... I'm expecting.  We are due September 9th.  We were going to start "trying" in January and I got pregnant in December.  It took over two years and a surgery to have Cole, so just finding out we were pregnant was really cool.  We had an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago and they already think the baby is a boy.  We go in a couple of weeks for the anatomy scan and to confirm the boy parts.  I told Stephen we may have to go for number three, then I saw a mom in Target the next day with three boys...that would be me...I'm sure of it.  I looked at the youngest boy and thought to myself, "You were supposed to be a girl."  Boy or girl...things are looking good and going well and that's what matters most.  Once we get the confirmation, we will nail down the name.  I have a few in mind... Colin, Conner, and Cade top the list at the moment.

Sesame Street Live

Stephen, Cole, Stacie, John, Jake and I went to see Sesame Street Live.  Cole loved it.  We had great seats...better than any concert seats I've ever had.  Beforehand they had a playtime.  The characters made appearances and there were stations set up for photos and crafts.  Cole had is own seat, but I thought he would want to sit in my lap...wrong.  I propped him up with his bag and he sat next to me the whole time.  He danced and sang...it was so cute.  Here are some pictures from the day of fun.
