Cade's First Birthday

We had Cade's birthday party on September 7.  We decided to have it at Seabreeze Park, where we had Cole's first and third birthday parties.  The theme was…When I Grow Up.  The decorations where mason jars and "career" photos of Cade.  Everything was going great until the wind pick up and the rain started coming down.  The guests (mainly family members) started helping pack up and we were headed back to the house within 15 minutes of the bad weather starting.  We cut the cake and opened gifts at the house.  Cade had a great time playing with the tissue paper.  He really did eat much of his special vegan cupcake.  It was pretty good.

On Cade's actual birthday (Sunday) we went to Fuddrucker's with the family after church.

Bailey Family Vacation- Galveston, TX

So a couple years back, Stacie and John bid and won the Powitzky's beach house at the church youth auction.  We finally scheduled a time to go this summer.  When spent a few days at the beach and the pool in their neighborhood.  The beach house was very beautiful and had a great view of the beach and the bay.  The boys had a great time.  Even the baby's loved the water.

Our Ten Year Anniversary- June 28, 2003

So Stephen had to spend the week prior to our anniversary in Asheville, North Carolina for work, so he decided to  fly me out for the weekend.  I left late morning and arrived in the late afternoon.  Stephen picked me up from the airport and we needed to decide where to go for our anniversary dinner.  Someone had suggested a nice restaurant so we decided to give them a call.  They had a 9:30 reservation open so we decided to give it a try since we were without the kids.  We waited in quite a bit of traffic and finally made it back to the hotel to freshen up.

At A Rest Stop in South Carolina on our way to Asheville

We decided to go check out the restaurant which was located in a really swanky hotel- The Grove Park Inn.  It was definitely the place to be.  The lobby was incredible and the view of the mountain was gorgeous.  We went for a walk in the property to check things out before our 9:30 reservation.

For dinner we ordered a giant seafood appetizer platter.  It was delicious. We then headed to a piano bar on property and hung out there for a while.

The next day we went to the Biltmore Estate. We toured the home, walked the grounds and went to the winery.

After our long day, we headed to downtown Asheville to hit up another restaurant that was suggested by someone that worked at our hotel.  We went to one place that was about to closed down so we drove to another place.  In the middle of downtown we ran into Joey and Sarah Smith.  They were in Asheville visiting family and they were downtown hanging out.  "I think that is Joey Smith…That is Joey Smith…What?"  We went in Curate, a tapas bar, and nothing looked good on the menu, so we walked over to Limones…which was another restaurant on our list. It was definitely the right choice.  We ended up there again on Sunday night too.

On Sunday we drove to Gatlinburg, TN.  We spent the late morning on a zip line tour.  We then walked FOREVER to find a restaurant we found online that was no longer in business.  We then called another place and was sent on the longest route ever to get there.  Once we left, we headed down a different (supposedly shorter) route…WRONG.  It took us forever to get back to NC, but we were able to use our two day pass at the Biltmore and we went back to the winery for a second time.

Monday was a quick day…mainly for traveling home.  We did have a nice lunch on the river and did a little window shopping before we headed back to the boys.

Update on Cade

On May 28, Cade waved bye bye and on June 13, he started table foods.  He had some of dada's chicken with carrots over at Nonnie's house.

On June 17, Cade stayed overnight in the hospital.  The night before he had trouble breathing and had a bad cough so we rushed to the ER the next morning and he was admitted to stay over night.  He did a few breathing treatments in the ER and then we headed to pediatrics.  It was so scary and we were glad to see our little boy feeling better.

Cade is also starting to pull up.  He loves to play with Cole's work bench.
