Baby Boy Bailey- 2nd and 3rd Trimester Update

I haven't blogged much about our new addition and I definitely haven't been very good at taking belly pics and blogging about his stats.  Stephen says the second child always gets the shaft.  This pregnancy has been very different from my first.  I have had issues with my sciatic nerve and bladder...lots of heart burn and no cravings.  At last appointment he was frank breech...legs, head, hands, all towards my heart...bootie down.  He has also been more difficult to photograph.  I had to go in for two 2nd trimester ultrasounds just to get all of the anatomy checked.  At my last visit I had to do my glucose test.  After I drank the juice, I also had to get the Rh negative shot which caused me to pass out at the doctor's office.  Never get a shot on an empty stomach.  Today we went to the 3rd trimester ultrasound.  Cole and Nonnie came with us.  Cole loved it.  We did get a few good pictures of his face and profile...still hard to tell if he will look like Cole.  He has turned and is in good position.  He is weighing about 4 lbs. and is in the 77th percentile.  He is definitely bigger than Cole was at this point.  I am measuring two weeks ahead of my due date.  Here are a few pics of my belly and our last ultrasound.

First Family Vacation

We decided to go on a family vacation/babymoon before Cole's brother arrives.  After speaking with Ali, we decided to go to Longboat Key, FL.  We left Sunday, June 10th and returned home that Thursday, June 14th.  We flew into Tampa early Sunday morning.

When we arrived in Tampa, we headed to the car rental place.  We decided to get a convertible; we figured Cole would love it.  Later we found out he didn't like it at all.  He said, "It messes up my hair."

We stayed at the Lido Beach Resort.  We had a great one bedroom, two bath that was oceanfront.  It was perfect for Cole's nap and allowed him to go to bed reasonably early and then I slipped in with him later on in the evening.  Stephen slept on the pull out in the living room.  We spent the whole week at the beach and the pool.  We also hit up a few good restaurants and went shopping some on Thursday before we left.

We had a great time together and Cole is still asking to go back to the beach.

Easter Weekend 2012

On Thursday, I took Cole to have his picture made with the Easter Bunny at our local Credit Union.  He wasn't too sure about the EB, but wasn't freaked out either.  On Friday, mom and I took Cole to get some spring pictures.  Stephen had told me about a patch of bluebonnets near the house.  As you see in the pictures below, we were a day late and a dollar short.  That night was Cole's first night in his big boy bed.  We had switched his furniture while my parents kept Cole Friday afternoon.  His new PBK bedding matched perfectly with his current room decor.  I didn't move a thing.  On Saturday, we went to our church's spring egg hunt.  Right as the hunt was about to start, they turned off the bounce houses.  Cole was so consumed with why they were deflating, he didn't even pick up one single egg.  That evening we headed to the Helme's to celebrate Shane's birthday.  The boys had a good time hunting eggs in the front yard.  We spent Sunday at church and with our families.  All in all, a nice family weekend.

Super Hero Easter Eggs

Today we dyed Easter Eggs after church.  Cole was really excited.  This was the first year he actually participated.  After we dyed eggs and decorated them with stickers, we made muffins while daddy was grilling dinner.

1st Trip to the Houston Rodeo

So on St. Patty's day, we headed to the rodeo.  We had tickets to see Brad Paisley, but we never made it into Reliant.  We went to the arena and the carnival. Cole loved seeing all the animals; he especially liked the birthing center.  After we walked around the arena, we had dinner outside...carnival food and then headed to the Midway. Cole's favorite thing was riding the Metro Rail to get there and back.  He kept saying, "Let's go ride the train."  We decided we will have to take him downtown one Saturday afternoon and just ride the train for a while in and around the museum district.

Strawberry Picking at Froberg Farm

Over Spring Break we went to Froberg's Farm to pick strawberries.  Cole had a great time.  It was a little difficult to keep him from picking ones that weren't quite ripe.  He also liked to hop over the rows and trample some of the patch.  After visiting the strawberry patch, we went into their farmer's market and bought some homegrown veggies.
